By helping vulnerable and underserved populations, volunteering provides an opportunity to give back to the community and make an impact on others by helping improve their quality of life. As future healthcare professionals, PUSO strives to increase the number of culturally sensitive individuals within the health field that have a better understanding of their communities needs and actively fight against disparities in healthcare. We emphasize the importance of volunteering as it will build personal qualities such as compassion, selflessness, and humility and encourage character growth and professionalism.
